Communicating Science is designed to support doctoral students to develop the skills needed as emerging scientists. These skills are science writing skills (e.g. journal article publications and popular science texts, such as blogs and news items) and oral scientific communication skills (e.g. public speaking at academic conferences and popular science events, such as 3-minute thesis events, TED talks, radio shows, or television).
The course is divided into two modules. Part 1 focuses on the skill of writing for scientific publications in journals and Part 2 focuses on the skill of oral communication and popular science formats.
In these podcasts we cover a range of topics. The main aim of the podcast is to provide answers to questions students raise whilst engaging in the course Communicating Science, but also to address topics that are relevant, educational, and supportive.
